FAQs

Aviation Insurance

“Are the events we host covered under our Aviation Hull and Liability Policy?”
Unfortunately not. The product liability coverage under this policy does not include claims that are not directly involved with the aircraft. So in the event of widespread injury or food poisoning, for example, you would face a potentially huge loss. You need special events coverage to limit your risk.

“We run a jet management company. What happens if an accident occurs involving one of our clients’ jets – and their insurance carrier refuses to defend or indemnify us?”
This situation has happened, so you need to guard against this. At the time of a loss, negligence is a major factor in deciding if an additional insured has coverage and you may not be listed as an additional insured on the owner’s Aviation Policy. If either occurs, you’re not covered by that policy. So make sure your fleet program covers all aircraft operating under your Part 135 certificate. You’re the first named insured on that policy – and you’re covered!
